We may have avoided much of a 'sting' ...
Although this, below, is the same tree as the one in the photo I posted on 24 April last year, the very first post to this blog.
The tree is much further on than on that day (although the weather was not quite as glorious this time). The blossom is well past its best, nearly over, and the new reddish leaves are showing, even though it is much earlier in the month than last year, a full three weeks. Maybe that, and its implications, is the 'sting' in the tail.
